Current Academic Position and Scientific Activities:
2012-: Assistant Professor at the Department of Experimental Medicine and Surgery, University of Rome “Tor Vergata”
2007-: Contract Professor of Clinical Microbiology and Virology at the University of L’Aquila, Italy
2006: PhD in Microbiology and Medical Immunology at the University of Rome “Tor Vergata”
2004: Visiting Researcher, Max Planck Institute, Saarbruecken, Germany
Her research is focused on mechanisms underlying the pathogenesis and response to therapy of viral infection with particular attention to HIV and hepatitis viruses. She cooperates with many national and international recognized scientific researchers in several grants from the Italian National Institute of Health, the Ministry of University and Scientific Research, and the European Community. Thanks to her research activities (all published in peer-reviewed international scientific journals), she has obtained a consolidated position in the above-mentioned fields at a National and International level.
For her research activities, she has received 16 National and International Awards.
She supervises the research activities of several graduate students and PhD students at the Chair of Virology, University of Rome “Tor Vergata”. She is a member of the teaching commission for the PhD course in “Microbiology, Immunology, Infectious Diseases, Organ Transplantation and related diseases”, and for the Specialization School in “Microbiology and Virology” at the University of Rome Tor Vergata.
