Why study in Rome?

When people think of the world’s greatest cities, a short list can come to mind quite quickly- New York, London, Paris and Rome. Trip Advisor’s 2016 “Top Traveller’s Chosen Destinations” included Rome in 7th place. Rome is a magnificent city which is rich in History, Art and Culture. Rome is also known as the “Eternal City” and despite not being the “Caput Mundi” any longer, the cultural values that are still present in Rome are unmatchable. Rome is packed with tourist attractions and famous heritage sites. From world renowned and bustling tourist hubs like the Colosseum, to the relatively obscure Villa dei Quintili and far beyond. Rome simply has so much to see! Classical Ruins and early Christian places of worship stand next to- or lie beneath Renaissance palaces and Baroque fountains. Other popular tourist sites include St Peter’s Basilica, Forum Romanum, Pantheon, Trevi Fountain, Spanish Steps, and the Capitoline Museums, to name a few. Every corner of Rome hides a new treasure to be discovered.

The city’s mild Mediterranean climate is another persuasive draw for visitors from all around the world. Rome truly is a stunning city. Rome’s climate varies from very warm in the Summer to relatively cool in the Winter with some humidity during Autumn. Despite the fluctuations, the weather is rarely severe. Furthermore, beyond tourism, Rome is a very important city for academic studies, where it accommodates over 200,000 students which are distributed in 9 Universities, 4 of which are State Universities.
