Guidelines for Graduation Score Calculation in the Medicine and Surgery Program

The Medicine and Surgery Master’s Degree Program employs a structured approach to calculate graduation scores, ensuring fairness and recognition of academic and extracurricular achievements. Below is a summary of the key components and criteria used in determining the final score, based on the latest faculty guidelines.


Components of the Graduation Score

  1. Academic Performance
    • The arithmetic average of all grades in the study plan, scaled to 110/30.
  2. Thesis Evaluation
    • Up to 7 points for the quality of the thesis and the final defense.
  3. Bonus Points for Additional Achievements
    • Bonus points are awarded for accomplishments that align with the program’s educational goals.

Criteria for Bonus Points

For Students Enrolled Before 2021/2022 Academic Year

  • On-Time Graduation:
    • 3 points for graduating on time.
    • 1 point for graduating within the first extra academic year.
  • Honors in Exams:
    • 1 point for every three honors achieved, including participation in a Progress Test.
  • International Activities:
    • 0.5 points for every two continuous weeks abroad, approved by the program.
  • Research Activities:
    • 2 points per peer-reviewed publication.
    • 0.5 points for each abstract as the first author.
  • Scientific Awards:
    • 1 point for achieving a final score of 111 or higher, with unanimous committee approval for honors.

For Students Enrolled from 2021/2022 Academic Year Onward

  • On-Time Graduation:
    • 3 points for graduating on time.
    • 2 points for graduating within the first extra academic year.
  • Honors in Exams:
    • 0.33 points for each honor achieved.
  • International Activities:
    • Up to 2 points for Erasmus+ or similar programs (1 point for 3–6 months, 2 points for 7–12 months).
    • 1 point for a month of medical solidarity projects abroad.
    • 0.5 points per week abroad (up to 1 point for two weeks), under international exchange agreements.
  • Research Activities:
    • 1.5 points per peer-reviewed publication.
    • 0.5 points per abstract (up to 1 point).
  • Extracurricular Activities:
    • 1 point for participating in at least 20 seminars, conferences, or training courses related to the curriculum.
  • Voluntary Clinical Internships:
    • 1 point for every 300 hours of elective clinical or research internships, beyond the standard curriculum.

Awarding of Honors (Lode)

  • For students enrolled before 2021/2022: Honors may be awarded for a final score of 111 or higher, with unanimous committee approval.
  • For students enrolled from 2021/2022 onward: Honors require a final score of 113 or higher, with unanimous committee approval.
