ROBERTO MIANO, Short CV

 

Roberto Miano was born in Rome on 26/06/1969.

 

He is an Associate Professor in Urology at the Faculty of Medicine, University of Rome Tor Vergata.

 

He obtained his M.D. in 1994 at the University of Rome La Sapienza, followed by clinical specialization in Urology in 2000 at the University of Rome Tor Vergata.

 

Roberto Miano became consultant in 2003 at the Policlinico Tor Vergata Foundation where he is actually working.

 

He is an active member of several scientific societies: European Association of Urology, American Urological Association, Italian Society of Urology, Italian Endourological Association, Italian Society of Andrology.

 

Moreover, he is co-founder and member of the International Translational Research in Uro-Sciences Team (ITRUST).

 

His main scientific interests are prostate cancer (basic research and diagnosis), BPH (basic research) and stone disease; the scientific activity is well documented by 64 peer-reviewed manuscripts on PubMed with an h-index of 22 (www.scopus.com)

 

Roberto Miano is Associate Editor of BMC Urology, member of the Editorial Board of Minerva Urologica & Nefrologica and Canadian Journal of Urology, reviewer of several peer-reviewed journals in the same field (European Urology, Urological Research, Medical Science Monitor).

 

He received several award during the last 10 years for his scientific works on BPH, prostate cancer and kidney stone.

 

His main clinical interests are the prevention and treatment of urinary stone disease and the minimally-invasive treatment for BPH and prostate cancer.
